splenial
1) a dermal bone carrying a sensory canal, e.g. in Amia. Also called sesamoid angular or submandibular
2) coronoid (a paired dermal bone bearing teeth located on the upper edge of Meckel\'s cartilage. One pair is found in Acipenseridae and two pairs in Amia and Lepisosteus. Also called presplenial, prearticular and intradentary)
3) coronomeckelian (a small bone on the postero-lateral part of Meckel\'s cartilage of the lower jaw. Often a point of insertion of the adductor mandibulae muscle. Also called sesamoid angular, supraangular, sesamoid articular, articular sesamoid, os meckeli or d bone)
